Known also with the name of La lla in ladin and of Stern in german, the town of Val Badia has hospitable tourist structures and represents a prestigious destination also for the international tourism.
La Villa is known also for its famous ski slope “Gran Risa”; every year the World Cup of Alpine skiing is here organized; beyond this, the “Gran Risa” is considered one of the most beautiful and challenging slopes of the “circo bianco” (white circus). For families and children the town offers the ski lifts of the Gardenazza, located near to the Hotel Dolasilla, and which connect La Villa with the ski tour Santa Croce.
With its wonderful view over the Sas dla Crusc, La Villa represents the ideal starting point for excursions on foot and with the mountain bike in every part of the Dolomite area. The natural parks Fanes-Senes-Braies and the Puez-Odle are easily reachable from the town, but there are also a lot of other possible activities, just like the cultural path “Tru di artisc”, the path of the artists which connects La Villa to San Cassiano, or the furnished sport zone, or a flight with the paraglider.
The emblem of La Villa is surely the “Ciastel Colz”, the castle of the Renaissance which overlooks the historical side of the town.
